Who we are
Earshot: Audio Drama Series (the app and this website) is provided by Codext GmbH, the controller responsible for data processing:

No account, no tracking
You do not create an account and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number to use Earshot. The app contains no analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not build profiles of you or share data with data brokers or advertisers.
Data stored on your device
Your listening progress, library, downloaded episodes, genre preferences and settings (such as playback speed, sleep timer and autoplay) are stored locally on your device only. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Catalog and audio delivery
To show the current series and play episodes, the app downloads the catalog, cover art and audio files from earshot.codext.de. Like every web server, our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. processes your IP address and technical request data (time, requested file, user agent) to deliver these files securely. We do not use this data to identify or track you. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare acts as our processor; transfers to the US are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment details, name or store account. The app checks on your device whether an active Earshot Premium purchase exists, using Apple StoreKit or Google Play Billing. Apple and Google process purchase data under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy.
This website
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no third-party resources. Fonts are hosted on our own server. The server logs described above apply.
Contacting us
If you email us, for example at support@codext.de, we use your email address and message only to answer you and delete them when they are no longer needed, unless we must keep them by law (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Children
Earshot is rated 17+ and is not directed at children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Since we do not store personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to show or delete, but we are happy to answer any question at daniel.ehrhardt@codext.de. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
Changes
If we change how Earshot handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
